Topics Covered
The Passive Wireless Sensors track covers computational aspects of battery free wireless sensor networks. Applications of wireless sensor networks in harsh environments or long time embedded monitoring will certainly benefit from battery-free wireless sensing. Despite a great amount of research on active sensor networks, to date computing community has not paid much attention to passive sensors mainly due to physical implementation problems. With recent advances in material sciences and communication theory, these hurdles are being alleviated, making passive sensors a reality. Topics such as information capacity, networking strategies, and interrogating methods for passive wireless sensors are considered in this track.
